Eric was raised in the Congo, but was suddenly evacuated to Montreal as a child without his family when a civil war erupted. As a refugee in Montreal and out of contact with his family, Eric found solace by connecting through music, dedicating and teaching himself how to play multiple instruments and learning how to sing, write and produce.
Exposed to the musical tastes of his older brother from an early age – Prince, Stevie Wonder, Beethoven and James Brown – Eric set out to find his own voice, evolving a new vintage sound blending funk, rock, soul and electronic together.
Eric Zayne’s journey has been extraordinary with 4 top 30 songs on the radio and listing projects under his belt with H.E.R., Cee Lo Green, Dr. Dre, Dallas Austin, Matisyahu, Jordin Sparks, Walter Afasanief,
Richard Marx, Randy Jackson and many others, filling different roles from artist, to producer, songwriter to Musical Director and A&R.
His last single “Can’t Help Myself” is featured on playlists like Fresh Finds, Butter as well as notable features on apple music, amazon and youtube music. He also has success in film and TV producing and writing an entire soundtracks featured as an artist for the new movie Artic Justice with actors Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin, James Franco and Heidi Klum. He also produced the end title track for the recent comedy hit under New Line Cinema “TAG”. As well as big placements on “Summer Of Jeep” with Jeremy Renner winning him a Hollywood Music award.
