Special Guest Artist Performing: Katja Koren
Born in Slovenia, Katja Koren has been immersed in music since childhood, making her recording debut at just seven years old. Trained in both classical and contemporary styles, she grew into a versatile vocalist equally at home in jazz, pop, rock, and world music.
Her collaborations span genres and continents, from working with Indian masters Sharat Chandra Srivastava and Gyan Singh to sharing stages with Grammy® winner Christopher Cross, and collaborating with top Slovenian artists such as Maja Keuc, Nuša Derenda, and Big Band RTV Slovenija.
A seasoned songwriter and improviser, Katja released her first solo album Veš, kaj mislim? (Know What I Mean?) in 2012, blending jazz and pop influences. Since then, her songs have received national radio and television play in Slovenia.
Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2014, Katja has continued to expand her artistry as a performer, recording artist, and educator. She has fronted bands like Strange Jazz Universe and The Love Invaders, and her music has been considered for Grammy® recognition. Currently, she is working on her third solo album with world-class musicians including Vinnie Colaiuta, Hadrien Feraud, Eddie Brown, Gorden Campbell, and Ruslan Sirota, while also collaborating with artists from Kool & The Gang, the Dennis Dreith Big Band, and more.
Today, Katja Koren continues to create, teach, and perform globally, blending her diverse influences into a unique artistic voice that bridges cultures and genres.
